Essie Gel Setter Top Coat

HIMG_7248i all!

Some of you may have seen the photo I recently posted on Instagram after I had painted my nails! In the comments I had mention how I would be doing a review on the Essie Gel Nail Top Coat… Well It’s been 4 days since I’ve painted them and I was honestly surprised by the results.

I lIMG_7198ove Essie Nail Polish, they are my favorite brand!! In reality I’m really bad at painting my nails, and this summer I wasn’t allowed to wear polish to work. I was super excited to finally get to paint my nails!

During some last minute shopping before my trip to Boise, I ran across Essie’s new Gel Nail Top Coat. I thought it would be perfect for my trip, I wouldn’t have to fix any chips or repaint my nails while traveling! …or so I thought.

I used the Gel top coat on both my toe and finger nails. Sadly, the paint began to chip on my fingers after only one day! 🙁 I’m not sure if I can completely blame the polish though. I’m known to apply nail polish a little too thick and I’m not that ‘delicate’ with my fingers. On the other hand, my toes are looking just like new! None have them have chipped and they still have that fresh painted shine.

When painting my nails, I always use Perfect Formula’s Pink Gel Coat as a base. I love using this polish just on its own as well! It gives your nails a nice soft pinky glow!

I then apply two ‘thin’ coats of color.

And end with a top coat, in this instance the Gel top coat.
