Fresh Huckleberries at Albertsons on Broadway
It happened again. I was blown away by the kindness of the Albertsons team to invite me back to their new Albertsons on Broadway store. This time I’m exploring the world of fresh Huckleberries!
When we first moved to Idaho I was taken aback by how many products there were that had Huckleberries in them or were Huckleberry flavored. But soon after, I learned that the Huckleberry is the State fruit! Which makes total sense considering Huckleberries are exclusively grown in the Northwest and British Columbia. That being said, now is the time to get some because they ripen in mid to late summer!
Now through August 26th Albertsons on Broadway is sharing the world of Huckleberries with you! Stop by the store to try free samples, watch cooking demos, sip huckleberry inspired beverages, and browse their Farmers Market (Saturday, August 26th 11am-5pm). Scroll to the bottom of this post for event details.
Similar to the Hatch Chiles that I explored a few weeks ago, there were Huckleberry products scattered throughout the store. I was most excited about this local Huckleberry Kombucha.
You can easily find items around the store that include Huckleberries by spotting the purple signs that say “Hooray for Huckleberries!”
One thing that I noticed, loved, and appreciated was that because Huckleberries are native to Idaho, almost all of the products were local! We even found these tasty marshmallows that were huckleberry flavored!
The bakery had a ton of Huckleberry treats and desserts, the kitchen was even serving up a Huckleberry salad! I was blown away by how many fun products to pick from, including this all-natural Huckleberry lemonade that looks delicious!
