Organize Your Life with the 2020 LifePlanner

Getting your life organized can be stressful – there’s always so much going on!

Thankfully, I found a solution to my problems back in 2017, The LifePlanner. It literally does just that, helps you plan your entire day-to-day life.

Today I’m going to walk you through the new 2020 Erin Condren LifePlanner and give you a few examples of how you can best utilize the different features within the planner.

Monthly Pages.

EC has completely revamped the monthly pages and I’m in love! These pages usually help me to keep track of any monthly bills or events that I have going on – it’s so helpful when I can quickly look over the entire month and get a grasp on things.

Inspirational Quote Page.

I love that they’ve brought this year’s kaleidoscope print inside the planner and on the inspirational quote pages. I feel that this is a great design for the colorful planners!

The inspirational quotes that are sprinkled throughout the planner are a nice touch and can help motivate you when you need it.

Monthly Organization.

They’ve really helped to structure and organize the space rather than leaving it open-ended. If you’re someone who needs guidance while planning, these pages will definitely help you.

The blank page on the left-hand side would be a perfect place to do a brain-dump or some mind mapping if you’re getting to get your thoughts out on paper.

The right-hand side of the page has so many new options! I’m a die-hard goal setting so seeing that there’s a space specifically dedicated to goals? #win

I’m particularly excited about the dot gird section at the bottom of the page as this would be perfect for tracking any habits or goals that you’re trying to maintain or achieve.

Monthly Calendar.

As I mentioned before the monthly overview is extremely helpful if you’re super busy or have a lot going on. I particularly like to use this area to section off when I’m going on trips, have large events coming up, or need to keep track of certain bills.

Weekly Spreads.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they updated the look and feel of the weekly layouts.

One change, that I’m not entirely excited about, is the removal of the blank box that lived in the upper left-hand corner of the page. This used to be a great space to write a quote or list something you’re grateful for. It’s now been replaced with a large hexagon containing the month and year.

Another change is the addition of the mini monthly calendar. I’m not too excited about this as I feel it takes up space that I typically use for other planning needs.

They’ve also added rounded corners to the weekly layouts which I think adds a nice modern touch and makes the planners feel more sophisticated.

Hourly.

The hourly layout has been my go-to this past year. I like that the time slots allow me to schedule my day in an organized chronological order. New this year is that they divided the planner hour rather than half hour. The planner now goes from 6am to 9pm, whereas before it stopped at 7pm. I like that the hourly layout now goes further into the night (I get a lot done at night) but I’m sad that they took away the half hour time slots – I found those very helpful.

Vertical.

The vertical layout includes rounded corners for each day. The first header of each column is also thicker than the remaining headers.

Horizontal.

I particularly like how the month and year are displayed in the horizontal layout. I wish that this was how they were depicted within each layout.

Sticker Pages.

The sticker pages have been completely revamped again this year. Erin Condren has added some new stickers that include the yearly kaleidoscope print which I think is a great touch and helps everything to feel cohesive.

The standard label stickers also go a bit of a re-design. They now include a foil asterisk and no longer have whitespace dedicated for writing. I personally like the new design much better!

Recap.

Overall I believe that I’ll enjoy the 2020 LifePlanner when it comes time to start planning in it. I love this year’s theme and feel that it suits the colorful layouts quite well. I like that they’ve added the rounded corners in the weekly layout, but I feel that this might hinder those that currently use or design weekly sticker kits for the EC Planners.

What are your thoughts on the new LifePlanner?
