The pandemic has definitely shifted my goals for 2020 and as we move into the last few months of the year I want to refocus and realign myself with my new end-of-the-year goals.
Prior to COVID sending us into lockdown, the main focus of my 2020 goals was to travel and see family. Those plans quickly came tumbling down and I never really readjusted them until now.
New 2020 Goals:
- Save $$$ for a down payment on a house
- Prioritize health & overall fitness
- Declutter excess belongings

1. Save Money
This has been something that’s been on my radar the whole year and Sean and I have been actively saving. Being the patient and financially responsible people that we are, we’ll be putting no less than 20% down on our first home. The reason I now want to make this my number one priority is that ideally, we’d like to purchase a house next summer.
In addition to saving money from our take-home pay, I’ve also been selling items that I no longer need or want. I’m also saving any income that I make off of any of my websites or from any freelance work.

2. Health & Fitness
Lo and behold I have a ‘get healthy’ goal in the mix. Needless to say, working from home full-time has put a bit of a damper on my daily step count. I actually had a pretty solid workout routine in place but it gradually fell apart by mid-year.
I few things I’m focusing on as part of this overall healthy lifestyle goal are:
- Drinking 3 Liters of water each day
- Hitting 10,000 steps each day
- Doing some form of exercise for +30min each day
- Yoga
- Cycling
- HIIT
- Strength
- Planning the majority of my meals (balance is key)

3. Declutter
I don’t like the amount of ‘stuff’ I have. To say it in a different way… it actually gives me a bit of anxiety. So to clear myself of this burden, I’m going to spend the next couple of months really being honest with myself and getting rid of the items I no longer need, use, or cherish.
When it comes to realigning my goals I wanted to be reasonable and realistic – I’m going to be spending the majority of my time at home, so what can I accomplish with that time?
One Last 2020 Goal…
One big thing that I don’t list here is how I’m also realigning the time I spend outside of my full-time job. I want to focus more on my passions and projects that I want to see grow – i.e. this blog, my family blog, my college blog, and my marketing blog. Hence how this blog post came about 😉
